The Broch Inspectors
The Broch Inspectors are a long established ceilidh band suited to play ceildh, concert and background at a variety of different events. The band plays ceilidh dance music for weddings, parties, corporate nights and if you are new to the fun of ceilidh dancing we also provide some light-hearted dance calling to explain the steps where needed.
The dances we commonly play include: Strip the Willow, Dashing White Sergeant, Virginia Reel, Canadian Barn Dance, Military 2 Step, Cumberland Reel, Cumberland Jig, Eightsome Reel, Gay Gordons, Witches’ Reel, St Bernard’s Waltz, Circle Waltz, Riverside Jig. Britannia 2 Step. Flying Scotsman. Other less well known dances can be played for too.
The band tries to cater for the size of your ceilidh and budget. They can perform as a small but powerful three piece or for larger events we can provide up to six players. The group travels across the country. We generally provide our own PA system .
The band members are ; Hugh Marwick (Whistle and Dance calling) and Malcolm Jones (Accordion) other regular Broch Inspectors are Gavin Marwick (fiddle) and Kevin Macleod (Banjo, Mandolin, Tenor guitar), Ewan Hemingway (Keyboards) Calum Marwick (Accordion).

We can also play concert ceilidh dances which are popular in village halls. Our repertoire is mostly highland music with a few other tunes in the mix.
